Kinh thành Altdias xinh đẹp, rực rỡ cỏ hoa, được thiên nhiên vô cùng ưu ái, là nơi mà mọi người quanh năm sống trong hòa bình, hạnh phúc. Bánh xe định mệnh bắt đầu quay khi hoàng hậu xứ này hạ sinh hai anh em sinh đôi – hoàng tử Roland và công chúa Rori, hai đứa trẻ trên tay có khắc những dấu hiệu kì lạ. Những tưởng tuổi thơ của cả hai sẽ dần trôi qua trong sự yêu mến và che chở của cha mẹ và dân chúng, song tai họa đã ập đến. Vào đêm trăng tròn, Đội quân Bóng tối đã bất ngờ tấn công kinh thành, giết sạch và xóa sạch toàn bộ dấu vết của Altdias, biến nơi đây thành bình địa.
