Plot Summary: (From Anime News Network)

High school detective Kudo Shinichi is infamously known to the people of Japan as "The Modern Sherlock Holmes". Things change when he is drugged by two mysterious men in black and finds himself shrunken to the size of a kid. Now hiding his real name, Shinichi lives with his childhood sweetheart Ran Mouri under the name of Conan Edogawa, and hopes to find some clues about the men in black through the clients and cases of Ran's father—a pathetic second-class detective who quickly became well-known through secretive help from Conan.

Shinichi Kudo is a high-school student who, by using observation and deduction, is good at solving mysteries. While investigating one, he is caught by the criminals that he was watching and forced to take an experimental drug. Leaving him for dead, the criminals disappear. Instead of killing him, however, the drug turns Shinichi into a little kid.

To preserve the illusion of his 'disappearance,' Shinichi adopts a new name based on his favorite author (Arthur Conan Doyle) and becomes Conan Edogawa. Ran, his (actually Shinichi's) childhood friend takes this little boy under her wing and brings him to her home. Conan now lives at a detective agency run by Ran's father, but his mind is as keen as ever and he continues to solve mysteries... always allowing Ran's father to take all the credit.

As far as everyone's concerned, Conan is just a little kid anyway... even to Ran. This is *extremely* frustrating to Conan since nobody will listen to a 'little boy.' Despite this, Conan has a mission... to find the criminals who did this to him and get the antidote to that drug.

Câu truyện xung quanh nhân vật chính là cậu thám tử học sinh trung học nổi tiếng Shinichi Kudo.

Trong 1 lần phá án, cậu vô chứng kiến một vụ giao dịch của nhóm mafia áo đen.và bị phát hiện. Cậu bị ép buộc uống một thứ thuốc độc chưa qua thử nghiệm là Apotoxin-4869 (APTX4869) nhằm mục đích bị thủ tiêu vô thanh vô tức. Tuy nhiên chất độc đã không giết chết Kudo mà khiến cơ thể cậu teo nhỏ trong hình dạng của một học sinh tiểu học.

Cậu vừa phải sống cuộc sống của một học sinh tiểu học, vừa bí mật lần ra tung tích tổ chức Mafia bí ẩn nhằm khôi phục lại cơ thể trong bộ dạng Edogawa Conan - cái tên do cậu ta tự đặt ra.

Đây là một trong những bộ truyện siêu kinh điển, chắc không cần phải giới thiêu nữa. :D

Thời gian sáng tác dài, nên không tránh khỏi những khác biệt về phong cách. Đoạn đầu, nét vẽ ngộ nghĩnh, vụ án cũng có phần đơn giản, càng về sau càng lôi cuốn hơn, chất lượng thẩm mỹ cải thiện đáng kể.

Tuy nhiên, theo mình thì bộ truyện này cần kết thúc sớm đi, dài dòng lê thê quá rồi, làm người đọc có cảm giác chán phát ngán.

Nghe giang hồ đồn đại mấy cái kết, cơ mà cái nào cũng phải có 1,2 người hi sinh. Mà theo mình thấy thì bộ này mang tính chất nhẹ nhàng, từ đầu đến cuối đều tươi sáng, nên cuối cùng mà chết nhiều quá thì chả ăn nhập gì cả. ( # vs Kindaichi, toàn người thân quen chết, u ám từ đầu chí cuối =))
